Kontest, an Educatum LLC product (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our fitness platform. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the app.

1. Information we collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our services:

User Profile Data — Username, email address, password (hashed), age, and gender.	To personalize the user experience, provide relevant workout plans, and facilitate community features.
Workout Data — Workout types (e.g., cardio, strength), durations, frequencies, specific exercises performed, sets, reps, weights used, and user feedback on difficulty.	To track progress, recommend personalized workouts, and adjust fitness plans based on user performance and goals.
Gamification and Rewards — Achievements, badges earned, points, leaderboards, challenges participated in, challenge outcomes, and rewards claimed.	To motivate users by tracking achievements and offering rewards for meeting fitness goals.
Social Interaction Data — Friends list and group memberships.	To foster a sense of community, encourage social motivation, and enable user interactions.
Usage and Interaction Analytics — App open times, feature usage frequency, session durations, navigation paths, and interaction hotspots.	To understand how users engage with the app, which features are most popular, and where improvements can be made.
Security and Access Logs — Login attempts, device identifiers, IP addresses, timestamps, and security-related events.	To ensure the security of user accounts and data, and to monitor for unauthorized access attempts.

2. Health & fitness data

What we access

With your explicit permission, Kontest reads the following data from Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android):

Steps
Sleep
Walking & running distance
Heart rate
Active energy burned

We request read-only access. Kontest never writes, modifies, or deletes data in Apple Health or Health Connect.

How we use it

This data is used solely to display your personal activity summary (such as weekly steps, sleep, and distance trends) inside the My Stats screen of the app. It powers your fitness insights and progress visualizations.

Where it is processed

Your health and fitness data is processed entirely on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, not stored by us, and not shared with any third party. It never leaves your phone.

We will never

Sell your health data.
Use your health data for advertising or marketing.
Share your health data with third parties.
Use your health data for any purpose other than the in-app features described above.

Your control

You can revoke Kontest’s access at any time:

iOS: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Kontest
Android: Health Connect → App permissions → Kontest

Revoking access immediately stops Kontest from reading any further data. Because we do not store this data, there is nothing on our servers to delete.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Personalize your fitness experience.
Provide insights and track your fitness progress.
Improve the app’s features, functionality, and user experience.
Send updates, newsletters, and promotional messages (with your consent).
Provide customer support.
Ensure compliance with legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your information in the following situations:

Service Providers: With third-party vendors to assist in providing our services (e.g., analytics, cloud storage).
Legal Obligations: When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Data security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data.

6. Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

Access, Update, or Delete Your Data: Manage your personal information within the app or contact us for assistance.
Withdraw Consent: If you have provided consent for specific data processing, you can withdraw it at any time.
Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails through the link provided in the emails.

7. Leaving the beta

Participation in the kontest beta is entirely voluntary, and you can leave at any time. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no penalty for leaving. To withdraw from the beta, you can:

Unsubscribe from beta emails: Click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any beta email to stop receiving beta updates.
Email us: Contact privacy@educatum.io and ask to be removed from the beta, and we will take you off the program.
Delete the app: If you have installed a beta build, uninstalling the app removes it from your device.

When you leave the beta, we will stop sending you beta communications. You may also request that we delete the personal information we collected for the beta at any time, as described in “Your rights and choices” above.

8. Children’s privacy

Our app is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information, including health data, from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted will be deemed acceptance of the updated policy.
